Welcome to the enchanting world of Karlbo. This is what we call Good Living.

Welcome to the Karlbo Seaside – a luxurious private villa, hidden a few blocks away from the heart of the wonderful summer city of Ekenäs (Tammisaari). The late 1800 villa is a pittoresque haven where the west coast sea spirit is mixed with exemplary interior and facilities.

The state protected villa is a unique example of the archipelago building style that lasts longer than a lifetime. Although totally renovated the villa still has its original logs, floor plan and spirit. Here you will sleep like a baby and encounter a world that no longer exists.

Ekenäs was founded in 1546 by Gustav Vasa, King of Sweden. There was a big fire in the Old town in 1821 and hence the oldest remaining houses are from the late 18th century. Karlbo (that is the real name of the property since 1890!) has a very long history too: its logs date back to the 17th century, but it wasn't assembled before the 18th century. The villa was moved from the old town to its current position in 1890, where it has stood happily ever after.

Welcome to "Unkan", the Karlbo Townhouse in Hangö (Hanko), that offers a stunning setting next to the old wooden fire station and the railway station. The Karlbo Townhouse resides in a wooden jugend house that was built in 1907 as the first Finnish public school in Hanko. Its architecture and attention to detail represent a bygone era of tradition and old world craftsmanship, which can be seen in the many jugend inspired details. The house is totally restored into its original glory in 2011 and offers an accommodation that meets the most exquisite taste. Have a look or investigate further.

Set in the center Finland's southernmost city Hanko offers you great local delicacies, relaxing atmosphere, events and activities, unique nature and a breathtaking archipelago scenery. The city has a coastline of approximately 130 km of which 30 km are sandy beaches. There are also over 90 small islands and islets within the city limits. In short, archipelago living at its best with the Karlbo seal of quality.
