Got to have a closer look at the cricket pitch & the wickets. The pitch is hard as concrete. Cool thing spectators are allowed out on the field during breaks, SA rules!

Had a perfect lazy afternoon picnic on Saturday in the Johannesburg Botanical Garden. Not too crowded but still a nice buzz and action on the Emmarentiadam.

My first Cricket game ever. Hot. Pakistan losing. Proteas #winning. Beautiful!

It’s incredible how flat Johannesburg looks at night. Viewed here from the Michelangelo Towers’ top floor suite in Santon, which provided excellent panoramic views of the city.

Had the chance to visit the Cupola Suite (600m2) in Michelangelo Towers in Sandton. Incredible open roof area with pools and “the usual”. Depicted here is the very top of the 143 metres building.

Sundowners at The Westcliff in Jozi makes you forget you are in the middle of a huge city. The City of Gold turned into a forest!

Stayed at a hotel in Springfontein which according to staff used to be a 5 star establishment. Must have been 80 years ago, but lovely wooden floors and details still present. The ghost town around was straight out of a Silent Hill game, shivers… Hope there will be new owners and days of glory ahead.

The Plettenberg Hotel (a member of prestigious Relais & Châteaux) features the superb restaurant Seafood at The Plettenberg.

Food was excellent as in its Hermanus counterpart (The Marine) but what caught the eye was the beautiful logotype at the entrance. You can only make a first impression once…

Beacon Island hotel glass roof & decorations are kinda funky.
